Sally and Tom live out of town. 20 miles out of town to be exact. It’s not that we are antisocial or anything. It’s just that we are, kinda. We live on a small kettle lake without a functioning boat dock. A kettle lake is a glacial feature. That means it was created when the Wisconsin Ice Age retreated and left ice cubes in the low spots. And I mean BIG ICE CUBES. It took a long time for the ice to finally melt during which the high spots around the ice cubes had a chance to build up. Our little lake subsequently now has no outlet, just swamp. The water table is quite high. Our well is 47 feet deep and is basically artesian. It matches our personalities. We tend to like swamps and our privacy.
